Alcomet To Build Car Parts Factory In Bulgaria

Bulgarian aluminium products manufacturer Alcomet [BUL:6AM] said on Monday that it has launched a new aluminium profiles production facility, aiming to enter the automotive parts industry.

The new Hybrex press, produced by Germany’s SMS Group, will allow Alcomet to boost its extruded products output in the medium term to 35,000 tonnes per year, the company said in a statement.

In 2018, Alcomet’s extruded products output edged down 0.2% year-on-year to 22,214 metric tonnes.

The new facility is the first stage of the company’s ongoing investment programme launched in late 2016.

Alcomet produces household, technical and container foils, finstock, sheets and strips, as well as standard and customized aluminium profiles. The company exports over 90% of its output.
