Bulgaria Looking For Investor To Build Congress Center In Varna

At the end of May a large investment forum will be held in Sunny Beach, on which the main theme will be the development of congress tourism. During the event state officials will be looking for an investor to build a congress center in the resort complex. This was told by Bulgarian Tourism Minister Nikolina Angelkova.

According to her, during this winter season, there has been a decrease in the number of overnight stays in Bansko, mainly due to the fewer tourists from Turkey. The decline of holidaymakers from our southern neighbor is 17% over last season.

Preliminary bookings of summer resorts are moving well and maintain levels since last year, Angelkova said. She also said that there was a 15% drop in Russian tourists. That is why the ministry worked on all options for returning tourists from Russia.

Angelkova added that 70-80% of foreigners who have visited Bulgaria are returning to holiday in the country.
