EU: Income Inequality Highest In Bulgaria

The inequalities in the distribution of income were the highest in Bulgaria among all EU members in 2016, Eurostat said on Thursday.

The income inequality ratio (quintile share ratio) in Bulgaria stood at 7.9 in 2016, Eurostat said in a statement.

The quintile share ratio is the proportion of the total equivalised disposable income received by the 20% of the population with the highest income to that received by the 20% of the population with the lowest income.
