The Association of Restaurants in Bulgaria (SZB) and the Bulgarian Association of Restaurants (BAZ) are pushing for the introduction of a strict and all-encompassing two-week quarantine. Such a lockdown period is only possible if it applies to absolutely all state institutions, except those of essential necessity, the organizations said.

“We insist on the introduction of a strict and all-encompassing two-week quarantine. Two weeks! Let us all take responsibility together for dealing with the problem and for solving it quickly. Otherwise, if again only three sectors have to bear the full burden in order to achieve doubtful results, we will be forced to mount a mass protest!

With a single demand – resignation of all members of the National Operational Headquarters! Resignation for the three capital “D”: Discrimination, Demagogy, Dictatorship. With three huge M: Mistrust, Mismanagement, Misconduct”, SZB and BAZ are adamant.

“All or nothing?!?! Either you open all businesses without restrictions, or you close them all!”, the two organizations add.

Yesterday, it transpired from the words of Chief Health Inspector Angel Kunchev that the new measures aimed to curb the spread of the coronavirus are likely to take effect from Saturday if a decision is taken.
