American-Bulgarian fintech entrepreneur Vladimir Tenev has officially become the richest Bulgarian in the world following a Series F funding round of $320 million from investors into the financial tech startup Robinhood that he co-founded with fellow entrepreneur Baiju Bhatt who he met at the university of Stanford where he was studying mathematics.

Following the Series F funding round, Vladimir Tenev’s estimated 30% stake of the company rose to be worth $2.58 billion which makes him the richest Bulgarian by far, with Canadian-Bulgarian property tycoon Ignat Kaneff coming in second place with a net worth of $1.3 billion.
